"Chemistry: our lives, our future ". With this slogan, the UN has chosen to celebrate the achievements and contribution to human welfare science that changes the world by declaring 2011 the International Year of Chemistry, and entrusting the responsibility to UNESCO - the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - and IUPA, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry.
